Most of you are probably using Zoom for your team and client meetings. But did you know that Zoom has a variety of healthcare applications?
Today we showcased our video solution at the American Telemedicine Association Fall Forum in Palm Desert, California. We were excited to share the variety of ways doctors and medical institutions can use Zoom to improve their patient care. Let’s look at a few of those telemedicine use cases for Zoom:
Behavioral and Mental Health
Zoom enables video counseling between mental health professionals and clients. Zoom can even be used for group video therapy. Through Zoom, counselors can help their clients address issues such as improving relationships at home and work, stress management, readjustment following a deployment, marital problems, parenting, grief, and loss. Synergenius is a great example of a psychiatric practice putting Zoom to use to help remote clients.
Professional Medical Education
Zoom helps medical professionals such as nurses and doctors continue their education even if they are working in rural or international locations. Additionally, creating networks between medical centers and critical access hospitals helps to alleviate the pressure on the short-supply of medical specialists.
Our software isn’t just for educating doctors. It can also be used to educate and work with patients. Technology, expertise, and resource gaps close when Zoom is used for communicating healthcare plans to chronically ill patients. Patient engagement and outreach in these high-cost, high-risk populations demands adoption and practice of video-enhanced, evidence-based care guidelines to reduce practice variation, promote communication, and avoid hospital re-admissions. Apractis Clinic uses Zoom to connect with and care for their patients.
Virtual Child and Student Healthcare
Zoom can connect doctors to school nurses and students so that students don’t have to leave campus to receive treatment for:
