Hubs can be categorized around event types, subject matters, hosts, teams, topics, and even audiences. They’re used to host the actual events as well as store post-event recordings.

Types of Zoom Events Hubs
Event Hubs fall into two types: External or Internal. Before you create a Hub, you’ll need to decide how much visibility and access you intend for your events to have. External Hubs can host both public and private events. Internal Hubs, however, can only host private events.
What’s the difference?
Public events typically allow anyone with a registration link to attend an event, whereas private events are better suited for an event with a specific guest list. Because events are hosted from the Hub itself, you’ll want to decide whether an event will be public or private before you launch. There are a few advantages to each Hub type, so here’s a closer look at how to use them.
At Zoom, we use Internal Hubs to host employee-related meetings and events like:
- Our 10-year anniversary celebration: This celebration was held on the Zoom Events platform with concurrent breakout sessions and a mix of live and pre-recorded content
- Annual sales kickoff (SKO): Hosted on Zoom Events, our annual SKO features a smaller guest list and invited guest speakers.

Although these events are different, they all live in Internal Hubs. You can give your all-hands meetings one Hub, and use a different Internal Hub for team-building exercises and continuing-ed webinars. Rather than search the intranet or sort through emails to track down a link to a recorded meeting, employees can go to the designated Internal Hub to access past events on-demand as well as see upcoming events.
As mentioned earlier, External Hubs can host public and private events.
