Spin Master Continues Work ‘Without Missing a Beat’ During COVID-19 with Zoom and Neat

As one of the largest children’s toy and entertainment companies in the world, Spin Master is the brains behind a wide variety of successful toys, entertainment franchises, and digital games such as PAW Patrol, Hatchimals, Rubik’s Cube, and more. 

With over 1,600 global employees making these groundbreaking toys and shows a reality, Spin Master needed to find a way to continue operations when its workforce went remote in the wake of COVID-19.

Zoom enabled Spin Master to maintain its operations and carry out complex projects, while Neat’s Zoom-native hardware supported frictionless collaboration between its in-office and remote teams, paving the way for a seamless transition back into the office. 

Removing the barrier of distance with Zoom

Spin Master’s legacy solution couldn’t provide the security, scalability, interoperability, and seamless experience they were looking for. The globally distributed team required a robust, intuitive, and secure video communications platform, so they turned to Zoom. The deployment came in the nick of time — Spin Master implemented Zoom one week before it was asked to go into lockdown due to COVID-19. 

“Although we didn’t know what was coming, in hindsight we can see how picking Zoom paid off in the wake of COVID,” said Tyler Pollard, Spin Master’s Global Manager of Audio Video. “Zoom was so easy to use. It was no problem to shift our entire global workforce to remote work and maintain momentum and productivity.”

Creating a seamless user experience with Zoom + Neat 

The teams at Spin Master knew that, despite the lockdown, they needed to prepare for a smooth transition back to the office once they could safely return. This caused the team to deploy Zoom in-office meeting spaces across the globe. 

“We used the lockdown as the opportunity to plan and implement the final phase of our Zoom deployment,” Pollard said. “We weren’t sure at the time how long the shutdown would last, so it was critical to quickly get the meeting room solution operational so that our teams could come back to the office and carry on without interruption. This meant we not only needed a solution that would be easy for employees to use upon their return, but that could also be sourced quickly and deployed remotely.”
