Zoom Receives EdTech Cool Tool Award 2019 in Collaboration Category
May 6, 2019 by Rena Gadimova

EdTech Digest announced the finalists and winners in their annual The EdTech Awards 2019, and Zoom is a Cool Tool Winner in the collaboration category. Established in 2010, The EdTech Awards is the largest and most competitive recognition program in education technology, recognizing both the biggest names in education technology and those who soon will be.

This year’s finalists and winners were narrowed from a large field and judged based on various criteria, including pedagogical workability, efficacy and results, support, clarity, value, and potential.

Zoom has received this award for its contribution in transforming education through technology that enriches the lives of students globally. Many schools and universities across the US are utilizing Zoom’s video-first unified communication platform to video-enable classrooms, expand accessibility, and boost their distance learning programs. Through features such as one-click content sharing, video breakout sessions, co-annotation, and digital whiteboarding, Zoom is able to help build today’s collaborative classrooms and meet the needs of modern learners.

“Nearly a decade in, The EdTech Awards persists in its salute. Featured are the creators and champions of the sufficiently advanced technologies that sometimes wow us, seek to help us, and ultimately move us forward,” said Victor Rivero, who as editor-in-chief of EdTech Digest, oversees The EdTech Awards.

This award is significant for Zoom, as making an impact in the education space is one of our top priorities. We strive to upgrade the way new-generation students and faculty communicate by providing cutting-edge video-first collaboration tools to maximize their engagement,” said Ben Grande, education segment leader for Zoom.
