We’re happy to announce that Zoom has been recognized by Constellation Research in their 2017 Enterprise Awards! Constellation Research, a Silicon Valley tech research and advisory firm, recognized a single winner for each of their categories. Zoom was selected as the Best Enterprise Software Startup. We’d like to congratulate Oracle, Intel, Marketo, and Persistent Systems for also receiving recognition in the report.

The Constellation Research team chose Zoom because of the company’s dramatic growth rate in customer base and product usage, movement into new verticals, and new integrations. “Zoom has been around since 2011, but saw a dramatic uptick in business, doubling its user base to more than 700,000 companies and about 7,000 educational institutions…Annualized meeting minutes hosted by Zoom’s cloud platform went from 6.9 billion to greater than 20 billion.”

These numbers were from August 2017. The research firm also referred to our movement into the telemedicine vertical, integrations with companies like Slack and Skype for Business, features for augmented reality and artificial intelligence, and our first ever user conference, Zoomtopia.

Alan Lepofsky, vice president and principal analyst for Constellation Research, said, “Web conferencing platforms are one of the hottest areas of enterprise communication software. Unlike their legacy counterparts, the new generation of tools are being developed with a focus on mobile experiences, integrations with other business applications, and artificial intelligence to help redefine the meeting experience.”

Lepofsky met with our CEO, Eric S. Yuan, over Zoom to talk about Zoom’s partnership with Sequoia in $100 million dollars in series D funding. They also discussed some of Zoom’s distinguishing features such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. Check out the full interview here.
