Zoom + Slack: See What Together Can Do

[Updated 7/31/19]
We at Zoom pride ourselves on our ecosystem of integrations that help us slot into the workflows where your employees … well … work. One such integration is much loved and used by knowledge workers: Slack. Way back in 2015, both Zoom and Slack customers started clamoring for an integration, and we were happy to oblige. We have since deepened our partnership and the integration to provide you with the most frictionless collaboration and video experience.
So let’s take a look at what Slack and Zoom, together, can do for your teams.
In short: You can host your Zoom meetings directly from Slack. If you’re a paid Zoom customer and a Slack customer (with the same email address for both accounts), you can start an instant meeting or join a scheduled meeting directly from Slack. Enter the /zoom slash command into your channel to start an instant meeting with all channel participants, or type /zoom join [meeting ID] to join a scheduled meeting. Note that this capability applies not just to your company’s internal channels, but also to your shared channels with other companies.
Through Slack’s Outlook Calendar and Google Calendar apps, you can join Zoom meetings with the click of a button. Both apps notify you in Slack of your upcoming meetings, and for meetings that include a Zoom link, calendar notifications have a handy button where you can join the call right from Slack.
NEW! Manage Zoom Meetings in Slack: With our new release, you’ll not only be able to start or join a meeting, but you’ll also see meeting details and who’s in the call before joining — all from within Slack. You can also ask your Slack admin to change the default setting for your workspace’s phone icon to Zoom (here’s how). Every time you click the phone in Slack, you’ll launch a Zoom meeting. With the Zoom and Slack enhancement, you will see in real time Zoom call details, such as call attendees and elapsed time, directly in Slack.
Our joint customers love our integration with Slack. It is one of the most popular apps in our App Marketplace. In fact, over 15,000 Slack teams now use the integration each month. Both Zoom and Slack are committed to building the next generation of tools that power collaboration in the workplace.
